Teacher Performance Assessment

Last Thursday, March 17th, 2011, the working group of Elementary English Teachers of Kabupaten Pekalongan had a meeting and asked me to be a speaker in their meeting in the education office's hall. They asked me to explain much about career development of the teacher that we've known through proposing determination of credit number on teacher performance, based on new rules of Permenpan RB number 16 /2009, that will be implemented on January 2013.
         I told them how  the teachers should do their job, which is explained in that rules. And they should understand it so they can prepare everything so they are able to do the job in professional way and develop their professionality.
         The component that every teacher has to do and preapre is CPD (Continuous Professional Development). CPD as mentioned in that rules contains 3 items , i.e : doing  self-development, making scientific development and developing innovative work. Those three activities are still being difficult ones for most of the teachers so they have to be motivated and accustomed to do them. And it is not an easy work. It needs support from all stakeholders. Because it relates to change paradigm that has been used to for years. By implementing this new rules also makes teachers not to be able to move up in 2 years but minimum needs 4 upto 5 years.
          It has to be understood as a requirement to gain the aim of  national education...................
